There were no birth control pills in the 1800s folks, just thought I would mention that. Another person was probably on the right track when they mentioned poor nutrition and other health concerns as a reason why they didn't get pregnant much. If they did, I'm sure some of them used unsafe methods of abortion. Childbirth also wasn't as safe as it was today.

They did not have the types of birth control we have today.We're talking about Wild West Days........The men usually pulled out.I think there was something else but don't remember.

I think that a lot of them had miscarriages or weren table to conceive. Poor health conditions, lack of nutrition etc... Besides, if they were pregnant they could still have sex in till they were showing. Hell, im sure that those men didnt care

In the modern world sex and pregnancy are two different things. This applies to all especially more to the so-called sex workers (prostitutes)
