I send/receive email with people in Japan very often. Sometimes we communicate in English, sometimes in Japanese (written using the roman (English) alphabet) and sometimes in Japanese using the Japanese characters. It all works.

Basically, there is no "language" to the email, the data is just electronic signals that are sent. However, the sender and receiver have to both be using compatible character coding so that the signals are interpreted to mean the same character for display.

If you write using the english alphabet, it will probably display correctly on almost every computer in the world.

If you write using a special character set (like Japanese) it is important to be sure that both sides use the same character coding system in order to display it properly.

You can use the Babelfish.com translator to do it for you, then copy and paste.

Somethimes though, these translators don't work too well, so I try to make it as simple as possible, and translate back and forth a few times, to ensure that it is translating correctly. What language do you want it in? I can do french or spanish for you if you only want to do this once.
