Assuming you're running Windows on your system: click the start menu > all programs > accessories > system tools > disk defragmenter. Follow the prompts from there.

Thhe easiest way is to go to your control panel, switch to category view, performance and maintenance, rearrange items on your hard disk.

Do an analyse first; it will tell you if it needs defragging or not. Defragging too often will actually hurt your computer.

Are you on a pc or on a mac?
On pc: start; accessories, system, and defrag. Choose the volume and click "analyse" or "defrag". 15% Free space needed.
On mac: system preferences, system, and look in the console, you've got a hard drive check and defrag.

on pc:
start; Run
type: cmd
promt command opens
type chkdsk /r [letter of the drive]

you can defrag your computer with this way:
in first clik your START buttun and open ALL PROGRAMS and open ACCESSORIES and open SYSTEM TOOLS and then open DISK DEFRAGMENTER. when you run this program you know answer your question because work with this program is a very easy.
but in other way you can use an other program. for example you can use Norton System Work or TuneUP Utilities.

Go to Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / Disk Defragmenter. and the choose the drives you want

on your start menu, go to accessories, then system tools, then click on disk defrag. and follow the instructions. it's propbably a good idea to just run maintenance wizard.

If you have Windows XP, go to Start->My Computer->Control Panel->Performance and Maintenance->Rearrange items on your hard disk to make programs run faster (a.k.a. disk defragmentation)
