Its not a thick question, this is just one of the things we all have to get our head round!
I'm not sure what you mean by right click to move, do you mean you moved the shortcut to a different location and now you want it back on the desktop? Or do you mean you rearranged your icons on the desktop and want to put them back where they were?
You can move your icons around the desktop by left click and drag. So you just drag them to where you want them.
Or you can arrange them by right clicking on the desktop and select arrange icons by type, or whatever suits you.
If you lost your icons off the desktop you can pput them back if you right click on the folder and select create shortcut, but desktop icons use ram and eventually you'll have so many you can't find the ones you want. I tend to delete them and just use the start menu.

Do not right click to move icons. Use left button. If an icon is lost, go to all programs under the start menu, click the program and redo the icon.

Well, where are you moving them to? If you are just moving the icons around on the desktop(screen) then you can just drag them. If you are moving them by putting them somewhere else on the computer then they will still be on the computer just in a different place. There can also be a file on the computer that says other decktop icons and unused ones. They might be in there. Otherwise I am not clear on what you're asking.

if you right click on the desktop then scroll over arrange icons by, pick align to grid and auto arrange. From then on everything should snap back into place after you move it.

if you feel you have too many , right click on a empty spot and create a new folder and name it icons, then you can drag all or some of them into the folder, hold the right mouse button down on the icon and drag it into the folder, when you need them open the folder. no charge, you're welcome.
