1. Open the photo in a good editor like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.
2. Click "file" and then choose "Save as".
3. When the menu box appears with the filename and extension, change the extension type to .jpg
4. Click "OK".
Your pic should now be saved as a .jpg file. You may get a prompt or two telling you that the file must be converted to 16million colors, or merged, etc. Just answer "yes" or "ok" to any of the prompts and you're done.

suppose your file name is abc.bmp Just while renaming it, change its format by writing jpg instead of bmp. Write abc.jpg

You need to open it in a graphix program such as Photoshop or even Paint that is part of Windows... open Paint, drag pic into it, then File / Save As / and drop down list to jpg, name it and save. Will be a smaller file size when done, too.

right-click on the picture , send to paint , go to file , save as , change it to jpg and rename it , then save it to my pictures

If you have an image editing program you can simply do a "save as" and then select jpeg from the pull down menu...

open the file.. then click file then save as.. type the name youbut add.jpg in the end.. that will turn the saved version in jpg...
