This is called the Omnipotent Paradox.
"Can an omnipotent man build a rock so heavy that he cannot lift it himself?"

Once you've thought a bit about that, you can go to the link below that is all about the paradox with discussion if you'd like.

The following is called the Grandfather paradox, having to do with time travel.
"Suppose you travelled back in time and killed your biological grandfather before he met your grandmother. Then you would never have been conceived, so you could not have traveled back in time after all. In that case, your grandfather would still be alive and you would have been conceived, allowing you to travel back in time and kill your grandfather, and so on."

Here's the link to the Grandfather paradox discussion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grandfather_paradox

There are tons more that you can read about, too! Click on the link below that leads to a list of paradoxes that you can click on to find out more about them.

Enjoy! Hope this helps.

Here's a simple paradox. Yes, that was the paradox. Something can't be simple and a paradox at the same time.
Another example is "This statement is false." If true, it can't be false, but if false, it would be true.

Sure; time travel is full of them. Here's the paradox:

You build a time machine and travel back to a time when your grandfather is just a boy. You kill him. However, how could you have been born, built a time machine and killed your grandfather, since he died prior to your father being born. You couldn't. BUT, since you didn't you WERE born, and kill your grandfather. Catch 22 Skidoo!!
