if you are not having sex and you can totally rule that out...(pregnancy)
it could be stress or change in diet , excessive working out

Of course, you could be more than three months prgenant, and it may not show yet. A pregnancy test from the pharmacy might be a good precaution.
Beyond that, it is not unusual for a woman to have a low period, or miss a period sometimes. This happens more often at older ages, after say, age 35 to 40, rather than at your age though.
At your age, not eating right, or being under alot of stress can shut that down. If you are very low weight, that might be the issue also.
Of course, talk to your doctor. That is what they are there for. Tell your parents, or whomever that you have an unusual stomach pain or something, and then tell the doctor why you are really there. S/he will keep your confidence.

At this age, your period can still be a little irregular. Also things like stress, overexertion in exercise, and poor eating habits can cause irregular periods. Don't panic yet. Mention your situation to an adult and they'll probably tell you the same thing. If the problem continues, then consult a doctor. I (emphasis on 'I') wouldn't get worried until after approximately 2 months but you know your body better than anyone else so if you feel like something's just not right, don't hesitate to see a doctor!! Good Luck!!

your period is tied to your eating habits and your emotions/stress. If you are eating weird (i.e. binging and purging, just started a diet, just got off a diet, etc..) then you period could get a little messed up. Also if you are particularly stressed or on an emotional rollercoaster, that can also screw up your cycle. Also, when you are younger, your cycle is more likely to be irregular. Although if this were the case, you would probably know that by now...
If you continue to be late, you may want to see your doctor to find out if anything is wrong.

Stress and irregular periods are the main culprits of a woman not getting her menstrual cycle on time. Although, if you are sexually active, make sure with a doctor that you indeed aren't pregnant. I'd wait another week and if not, consult the doctor. Best wishes and take care.

MANY THINGS CAN 'CAUSE' A MISSED PERIOD. Pregnancy is obviously a cause, but there are other causes: strenuous exercise, extreme stress, illness, etc. Please call Planned Parenthood or your local clinica and get some safe sex info. Read it. Use it. Besides thetrauma of an unwanted pregnancy, there are a lot of worse things. Some of the STDs can cause a lingering, painful death, Please stop playing around with this. Remember that we (women) must be incharge at all times regarding sex--- because no matter what happens, we are the ones to pay for it.

Also weight gain can cause your cycle to be later. Your cycle could just be irregular. If you're not sexually active, don't worry about -- enjoy not having to deal with it every month. A few years ago my doctor gave me some medication to control when my cycle came on. The drawback is, the cycle becomes unpredictable and you never know when it's coming on. I've never been keen on having a cycle -- I hate it, but I deal with it. If you're not having one -- don't worry about it -- just enjoy the freedom of not having to deal with it. Don't start worrying about it until you become sexually active.

A diet that is lacking in protein or fats can cause a delay or even the stopping of your cycle--as can excessive exercise or weight loss.
Don't worry too much though, because it takes about 6 years for a young woman's cycle to become regular. Many women have irregular periods into their early twenties.

could be lots of things, most of which or nothing to even think twice about. have you been ill? have you lost weight? Any kind of change like that can throw things off. Stress can do it too. Sometimes its for no good reason at all. Continue on your merry way until you miss next months period too....then go to the dr.

Start with a drastic change in your eating habits. Have a diet totally free of meat but full of vegetables and fruit and moderate amount of dairy product. Follow this for one month and you will be wonderstruck by what you achieve at the end of that period.
