Yes it's so I can watch England.
Problem is i've used my mother's heart scare and the car breaking down on the M25. I've also had one dose of "flu".
My boss said i'm fired if i do it again.
This is an emergency. HELP!

Come round to mine and I will beat you with a golf club. That should do it.

Why didn't your boss believe you last time? Surely he should be sympathetic to those thing! Maybe you could put a cast on your arm, say you broke it but you'd have to wear it for a while though, or you could say your mother has had another scare, you'd haveto say it a few days before though to make it sound realistic, or you could just try asking for a few hours off and tell him the real reason? Just imagine if you really were ill though, what would you say then? Bear that in mind and call in with flu!

ok - caress his ego - send him an email ahead of time and just respectfully ask for a personal day to handle some personal problems at home or with family and tell him that you will make it up or take the day with no pay. But tell him that you are not about to come up with some brilliant excuse and honestly just respectfully request a personal day off to handle some personal problems.

He may respect you a lot more for your honesty.

um, you asked this question an hour ago and the game finished almost 2 hours ago...so you must've already seen it! get your butt into work!

if it's for the next match then if you work around food ring the day before and say you have sickness and diarrhoea then call on the day saying you're fine now. by law you have to be 48 hours clear to be back around food so you're covered. if not, someone's already mentioned getting a drs not for work-related stress - that's genius cos if they sack you and you've been there for more than a year you can do them for wrongful dismissal!

Reminds me of the guy who decided to go home as his boss was not in. When he got home was just about to go in and could see through the window his boss was making love to his wife Went back to work without going in after all he didn't want his boss to know he was not at work

well say your getting married in germany, if should let you off even better phone him up after he thinks your married then say your wife ran away with a german fan and your totally desvasted in this way you can have a longer hoilday enough time to watch the world cup.

or just say you saw a girl from your old high school after all these years now you want to marry her and plan to go on holiday for a honeymoon.

I would recommend that you just switch that day with another employee if you can. If you can't then record england and watch it when you finish up with your work. It's not worth getting fired over and another thing start doing the right thing in your life.

im sorry but you should not use your mothers heart scare as one of your excuses to miss work for a match. karma, you know, it might just happen and you will regret it.
once i feigned ill to miss a hockey match, told coach had leg cramps, and voila next day i woke up with one. @least thts ok cause i deserved it, but using your mom... she may not deserve it.
how about you need to go to a day clinic, that day. for treatment for a personal condition. that could cover anything. but make it seem clear you do not or canot discuss it. he'll respect your privacy. well he should anyways.
