I've used the Boots Botanics face cream and I didn't really like it. it never made my face burn at all though.

You may just have really sensitive skin. Check the ingredients for AHA's (anhydrous acids) or salycilic acid. if it does have these ingredients, then try to find a cream that doesnt as they can irritate the skin if it is sensitive.

If you get a burning sensation don't use it! Your skin probably doesnt react well to scents, try Aveeno or some sort of scent free kind or even sensitive skin.
