http://www.dansmc.com/virago_starter.htm. There was a design flaw with those starters and this is where you get detailed info to fix the problem. Hope this helps.

even when its working right it sounds like its going to explode. See if dealer has a microfiche you can look at, shows parts in correct order for assembly, better than any manual
