Is it possible to retain the services of a guide through the hotels in marrakesh. What kind of prices would I expect to pay?
Have other travellers found this is a safer way to be out and about?

Officially licensed guides are best booked through your hotel reception or through the tourism office.
They cost 150 dirham (US$15) for half a day.
Marrakech, by the way, is easily done without a guide.

I think you should be able to find a guide at the hotel or travel agency. I am not sure on the price though.
but I do believe this is a good way to go if,you have never been there before or traveling alone.
I love Morocco and I hope you will/do too.

Of course there are guides in Marrakech. You can book them through hotels, or even bette through the Local Touris Boards called Office du Tourisme. let me know if you need more info

My friend! you need no guide to go around in Morocco! the place is really safe if you know where you are going.
I'm the president of a Moroccan Youth Alliance, and we are used to help out foreigners get around morocco, give them all the support they need, information about cheap hotels and restaurants and also transportation in here. and if that is not possible we can also offer them more help.. and that depends on their need.
