It is a woman's right to talk about menstruation - and given the issues involved it is important to do so...if you don't like it don't answer.

If you are a guy then don't answer - there is nothing 'ew' about it, and sad deal for any women in your life when your view their bodies in that light.

I have a mooncup, and I love it!

No more nasty dry tampons, no more smelly towels, no more feeling like I'm wearing a nappy, no more forgetting supplies, no more buying sanitary products for the next decade.

Expensive at first, but works out at about £2 a year if I use it for the 10 years it should live for.

and surprisingly, I find it less messy than tampons, and certainly less than towels.

I just have to add my voice to those saying USE A MOONCUP!!! I bought one six months ago and it is fantastic. No leakage, no residual fibres like tampons, more flexible. You can wear it for hours at a time if you want to with no side effects or danger of a leak. You do have to get the hang of putting it in to start with, but it's really not that hard, and so much better than a nasty dry lump of cotton. Plus they're only about £18.00, pretty cheap really considering they last 5-10 years.

For most of my life, I used disposable pads, but last cycle I began using cloth pads. I just bought a Divacup (silicone bell-shaped menstrual cup) and cannot wait to try it. Thank you for having this question, and opening up the lines of dicussion for women and menstrual alternatives.

I use pads during my first two days of my period because it's extremely heavy and not even the super absorbent tampons can do the trick. Then for the rest I use fragrance free powder free super absorbent tampons. When it's ending I like to use regular or light days tampons or mini-pads. I hate sanitary napkins (pads) because they are messy and smell. I don't use the Pearl tampons because I heard that it leaves fibers behind inside of you and that it can cause health issues. I don't use fragranced or powdered items because I read that it has been known to cause infections and rashes. So, I hope that this helps you...Best wishes and take care.

I use Playtex Gentle Glide slimfit tampons during the day and Always deodorant overnight pads at night.

Tampax super plus do it for me! I've used them for years and years, never had any problem either. I find sanitary towels are uncomfortable to wear and i feel more relax with the tampons. Having said that ... Scented small liner just in case of an accident!

Always scented pads :) I tend to stay away from tampons since they make my cramping worse.
