if you used your bank account as a vital referential when applying for the credit card, the creditors is holding your signed account agreement, that will bind you to have your account expose to their future recourse just in case you failed multiple times with the defaulted arrangement.

the creditor don't act on this instance just because you failed to pay once or twice occurrences, it depends on the severity of failed payments, and their frequency attempting to collect. plus without proper documentation attached to the request, creditors will not allowed to touch your account. due to some legality, it should be directly from the court including bankruptcy, income tax evasion, garnishment, lien.
