Well it depends on what is "worst." For example, a president can be really bad for not doing anything. This was what Warren G. Harding's admininstration was. His entire term, until he died in office, was completely about doing nothing. However, if you are talking about acting on things, but doing a terribel job, i think Bush is definitely up there. I really can't think of any other president "messing up" so badly.
Sooooo.... it falls down to acting badly vs. not acting at all or a battle, in my opinion of course, between Warren G. Harding and George W. Bush.

Its apparent that the dislike (even hatred) for President Bush for some people overrides what they have known of history. For some others it would appear that they have little knowledge of presidential history. President Bush has proposed (and done) a number of things about which I am concerned from a Constitutional perspective. However, he is far down the list of poor Presidents.
To pick the worse President there must be some standard by which such a judgment can be made, for me that standard is the Constitution. Even with such a standard, picking the worse President is difficult. Surely President John Adams would have to be high on that list. With the Alien and Sedition Act he was able to do a number of things including deporting people (including citizens) without due process of law. Acts that make what President Bush is being accused of doing as pretty minor.
When receiving a Supreme Court decision against him President Andrew Jackson Told the Chief Justice to enforce it if he could, and of course the court couldn’t enforce the decision.
Even the great President Lincoln did away with Habeas Corpus by executive order. When the Supreme Court ruled against that act, he ignored them. He also jailed a Northern politician for speaking his opinion about the war, and again no due process. If you like to read history, Abraham Lincoln is an interesting study, you’ll find a number of other things about him which fall outside of the shadow of his golden image.
Another President which did things not Constitutional was President Wilson during the World War I.
Its funny that President Hoover is so often damned for the Depression, but if one looks into the actual history not only will they find that not true, but much of what President Roosevelt was given credit for to get out of the Depression was actually started or planned by President Hoover.
Even President Washington who led us in a war of revolution which was in part caused by taxing without representation, led federal troops against American farmers in the Whisky Rebellion who were resisting the same type of governmental act.
Yes, there is legitimate concern with President Bush, but he is far from the worse president.

No.. Jimmy Carter - maybe not the worse, but the worthless.
And for out and out incompetence and corruption - Ulysses S. Grant.
Lots of presidents had some pretty bad parts of their terms in office.
President Collidge was an unmitigated disaster for the environment, for international relations, for health care, and for working Americans.

No, how could he be the worst when we have a liberal Democrat like Jimmy Carter who took that crown long ago.
Egotistical Jimmy C. will be a very hard one to beat for the title of worst President (of all time).

It seems to me that many people do not life Bush, I for one think that he is doing his best. I don' t see other people trying to run for president to do a better job. Will you please run so that you can get this country back on track??? I remember when clinton was in office many did not like him. No one is perfect and all that we can expect for any one to do is their best and I think Bush is trying his best in the difficult situation that he is in. You are prolly refering to the Iraq situation. Have you ever thought of how people would react if he did nothing at all aboout 9/11 and the other terrorism problems. He is in a lose lose situation. Whatever he does many people are not happy. He needs your support to be the best he can be.

Yes and if he doesn't he certainly should. How anyone in this country voted him in for a second term only shows the ignorance of our people. For goodness sakes, even Clinton was better. He wouldn't be hard to beat for the worst. I am in amazement he hasn't been shot at or something. Hell even Reagan was!

I think GW would have to screw things up alot worse than this to ever be as bad at Carter. Clinton wasn't exactly great, either. He just had more suppoert in the media and a greater ability to B.S.

Yes I do, since academia writes the records of history I'm sure they will label his a crusading liar. Its kind of sad really. I wonder what life would have been like if we hadn't invaded Iraq? How long it would have been before al queda regrouped their and hit another US City.
