IN VERY STATE IT'S ILLEGAL AS HELL. YOUR KIDS MAY GET ALOT OF BAD GENES.

It is illegal in every state to marry/ have a physical relationship with a 1st cousin and i think 2nd cousin too. It is not illegal to be with more distance cousins though. You have to look up the law to find out how far down the family tree you need to go. Why do you care anyway? Do you want to be with a cousin sexually? Cause that is gross. You need to get out more and meet people who arent your relatives!
It is illegal because it is disgusting and when having kids you need more variety. Muts do better than pure bred animals. If you put two animals together from the same blood lines that have a genetic disorder, there spawn will have more problems then if just one animal parent had the genetic disorder.

Nature likes randomness.
Each and every one of us has loads of mutated and "bad" genes in our genetic make-up (genotype). However, we don't tend to manifestate (phenotype) these mutations or other types or hereditary conditions, because the action of these "bad" genes gets masked by the action of normal genes. Usually, normal genes are stronger (dominant), whilst the "bad" ones are weaker (recessive).
If you have children with a close relative (eg cousin), there is a high chance that the child will carry the two "bad" genes, instead of a "bad" and a normal one; hence, will manifestate the anomaly.

I think you should ask an adult this question, maybe by writing it down. It's a serious issue, and could get you in trouble. If you aren't doing anything than you shouldn't worry about asking just so you can understand. It's normal to be curious and sometimes a cousin is your closest friend that you like and spend time with. That's why you need to talk to someone that you respect and believe they care about you.

Everywhere ya go, and its illegal because we all want healthy productive children. You cant get that from a cousin. You get 14 fingers, 3 eyeballs and two butt holes. You don't want that!
