This seems unsanitary to me. I don't want to say anything to these guys I work with, cause I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I get sick of the overpowering stench of crap, everytime I need to use the restroom.

As you know, dogs smell each others butts as a way of identifying one another. At work, it would attract too much attention if the dudes went around smelling each others butts. So..........by tossing shitty paper in the basket, your supervisor can then tell who is at work and who are not.

Mexicans aren't the only ones who do it. That is so asinine!!! I live in Long Island and many homes don't have a sewage system, they have cesspools. And they don't recommend that you flush toilet paper down a cesspool because it will back up. I'm sure that there many White American homes with the same damn issue.

I have a friend that adopted a child from Colombia, South America. They have had a hard time breaking her of this habit. They said that in those countries that is just the way they do it. I don't really know if it has something to do with their plumbing systems (don't know if they have septic tanks or anything) But it must be something to do with their plumbing or drainage systems... This doesn't really answer your question but just thought it was kinda interesting to know they do it there too

We don't have Mexicans in my area , but that is an interesting
Question , maybe most Mexicans don't have a flushing toilet
at home , so they toss it in the trash from habbit

Could be they come from places where the plumbing is not reliable and easily clogged. When I was traveling in Ukraine, people did the same thing --for that very reason.

It seems unsanitary because it is. They're not exactly noted for their hygiene, you know.
Actually, I don't think it's really used toilet paper. I believe they're developed Polaroid baby pictures. ;-]

maybe cuz the toilet will get clogged up. i don't know. the plumbing in mexico might not be so good as in the US. so be grateful!
