Ray would be correct. Even in Europe the music scenes are so diverse in popularity it's hard to guess what to expect. The unfortunate thing is that in America, the record labels deem what is "popular" and what is not. Thus, whatever sludge BMI is pushing is what people are going to hear and what they have to like. For example: 50 Cent, PCD, Kelly Clarkson, etc.

It really does depend on where you live but if you look around at whats always on tv and the radio it seems like rap is whats in right now.
