I am looking in Michigan in Kent County and surrounding counties.

Go the county courthouse and they will give you a list of the properties that are going to be auctioned off on the county courthouse steps and the date.

Look in the local paper for the properties that are in foreclosure. I think the county has to publish the info. for 30 days before auction.

The previous answer is correct. Also, some title companies allow you to get this info by registering for free on their website. Check out www.newcenturytitle.com as an example and then search other national title companies.
