The only people who would suggest that Elvis is over rated are those who have a very myopic view of popular music and are the same people who would perceive Oasis as more than a Beatles tribute band.

I do not think he is overrated, but there are a lot of other artists out there that are better than him!

Probably. Every artist who dies seems to make it even bigger when they die, with the exception of Freddie Mercury. He was brilliant

NO!! After listening to his music and visiting Graceland's, seeing how many charities he gave to and all the good deeds he did in his life I think his brilliant!!

In his hey day, he really HAD THAT X-FACTOR. Just watch one of his old movies 'Viva Las Vegas' and 'Jailhouse Rock' and you will get it. I felt the same as you until I saw him on the big screen.

One listen to the "Sun Sessions" - his first (and IMO greatest) album and you can't help but agree.
