I don't think it will be going down soon. Baby boomers are the largest population, median age will follow them!
Its going to create another issue in about 10-20 yrs. more retires then the work force!
Only possible quick way I can think to solve both is let more young immigrant come in, which will also stimulate the economy. Fact is most of the people will not like that idea.

I don't see that happening, at least not in a meaningful way. By the time the Baby Boomers die off, scientific progress will uncover ways to extend our lifespans. It's currently thought that by 2050, the average American could live to 125. So the median age might dip a bit in the next 10-20 years, but barring a major catastrophe or worldwide plague, the long-term upward trend should continue.

Probably when all the baby boomers start to die. They are about 55-60 now, so maybe in 15-20 years?

If it depends on the baby boomers then give me another 40 or 50 years. I don't plan on dieing any sooner than that.

with the advances in medicine, and people growing older, it may not change much too soon
