Pride refers to a strong sense of self-respect, a refusal to be humiliated as well as joy in the accomplishments of oneself or a person, group, or object that one identifies with.Which is okay if a person does not carry this to an extreme.Because then it will become the total opposite. If ones pride gets in the way you can become arrogant.
Arrogance is the essentially competitive and excessive belief in ones own abilities that interferes with the individuals recognition of self. Pride that has turned into arrogance is listed as one of the seven deadly sins.
People do have a distorted view on what pride is and what arrogance is.It is mainly seen in the over achievers and I blame society itself for how people in the sports industry react to outrageous amounts of money they receive for what they do.

I am so proud of my arrogance...that i know the difference between the two....

pride should never be confused with arrogance..

it is NOT wrong to be confident and self assured...you NEED that when it comes to competition. it is not a question of being conceited...you are either the leader...or the follower...

but you should check the ego at the door...just because you know you can pitch well or hit Homeruns/score goals or tougchdowns...still remember that your success is shared with your teammates...so let them know how appreciative you are of their efforts that make you look better than you might be...

Pride is the inability to forgive others or learn from your kids because you are too good for them or because you feel they can't teach you...when you make condescending or abasing comments..it just makes you look ignorant..definitely NOT sexy...
