Ignorance can be cured through education. Stupidity as I understand it relates to common sense. Common sense or wisdom is something that is accrued over time and experience. So I suppose if you feel someone is stupid just give it time and let that person experience life. Naturally, Your location has a lot to do with common sense. Common sense is directly proportional to where you are. For example, A city boy who grew up in New York city would be out of place on a cattle ranch in Wyoming and visa versa. Until that person got acclimated to his/her surroundings the person would be considered stupid. It would take someone with compassion to steer this person through the narrows of their particular environment

Of course there is. It's called aquiring knowledge. Once one has aquired so much knowledge over so much time then their knowledge becomes wisdom.
