I had a guy from this site say that Shultz Garden Dust was the only thing that he used. Works great. And not harmful to animals...I have yet to try it....He said it also works good for
sand fleas and other insects.
Wouldn't hurt to try it....I'm going too!

Good luck!

The traps work very well IF they are used correctly!
I have a garden center and we use them there.
In order for them to work you have to put them as FAR away as possible. They send out a sex pheromone so it draws the beetle to the trap. Of course, then you do not want the trap near your flowers but as far as you can go to the edge of the property!
Milky spore is very good, but only for Jap. Beetle grubs. So if you have other beetle grubs Milky Spore won't work on them.
At that point you would need to buy a real pesticide. A chemical lawn treatment for grubs! Good luck, Bugsie

I don't know how true this is but I was told the other day to plant four o clocks close to where you don't want the Japanese beetles and they will go to them instead

Do not use a trap as this just calls hundreds to your yard. I used Milky Spore powder which kills the larva. You just sprinkle it on you lawn. I bought mine from Fedco Seeds in Maine.
