Well first of all u don need JAVA for yahoo chat to work. If u are trying the web based version of yahoo chat ur at the wrong place( cuz its very slow) (but u can still give a try). But best option is to install Yahoo Messenger (its the easiest way to chat and its made for it). So try Yahoo messenger.
