They are going in popularity more each day. Many see them as heroes. They are getting the job done that others can not. They are made up of all races. And kids are drawing them in school as heroes (State Art Drawings Contests shown at many shows). What is your opinion?? And why are so many taking a liking to them?

The Minutemen are 'doing the job that the government won't do', and a lot of people applaud them for it, but it still points a pretty damning finger at this administration that a bunch of citizen volunteers had to do this...it doesn't cast Congress in a good light, either, because they're supposed to be our super-duper whiz-bang socio-economic trend experts, not just enriching themselves off the process etc....

how are the minutemen anything like the mounties? the mounties were a federal police force sent to maintain law and order during the settlement of the north-west territory. it had been run by the british trading company which had sold the land to the british government which made it a territory of the new canadian federal government in 1867. the mounties were a reaction to violence that had taken place on the american frontier between indians and settlers, and the need to have a quasi-military presence on the frontier. especially after the riel rebellions
