Since the birth of welfare some 60 years or so ago, the African American culture has been mired in a non-productive society while the rest of society has marched forward. Why do so many foriegn nationals come to this country with nothing and not able to speak the language and have the ability to become successful. Meanwhile others struggle for generations and never make it out of the getto. Why is this?

Because they're genetically incapable of success in a modern world. Being evolutionarily wired for a prehistoric existence doesn't allow for modern technology and the behavior necessary to function in a society so equipped.

You would have to start the analysis from the beginning of time; where it's said that only the strong survived. You yourself noticed it hasn't much to do with nationality, although it does play a part.

From there you realize that society has always been abusive and comprised of different groups: no nationality involved, you had tribes. The thing is that the strongest proved not to be necessarily a physical thing.

And so, this group masters the planet without compassion or recognition of the other people's purpose and great contributions. People are regarded as levels of society. Whether you are talented, hardworking, etc., doesn't matter. If you are born wealthy you are accepted no matter how lazy, stupid, etc., you are.

You have had your occasional break through, through the levels of society, however, that has been with exorbitant endeavors and crucifying battles. Don't forget that things such as welfare exist only to maintain the lower level alive so that they can do the dirty work for cheap, and so that they don't feel desperate enough to rebel and attack the oppressors.

If you consider those who are struggling, to be making it: perhaps those at a lower level have found that it's not even worth trying.

White men don't keep anyone down.
Get off your asses, get work, stop selling drugs, stop killing each other (that would be a great start, 300 in Baltimore last year. )
Take responsibility for yourself and live a good lawful life.
Go back to school if you dropped out (Balto has only a 35% graduation rate) work in the day time go to college at night. There are several black colleges here so you dont have to worry about whitey keeping you down. They also offer full scholarships due the the healthy affirmative action grants. There is no reason for you NOT to go to college and get a degree.
Then once you get your degree go back to the Community and take a good look around to see what you can change.
You could teach them how to respect where they live and take care of their living spaces.
You can teach them to read because many cant
You can teach them language skills because even the most basic telephone answering job wont tolerate them speaking street. Ever!
You can teach them that even if they think whitey is keeping them down they can go back to school and make something of themselves that doesn't involve sticking a gun in someone else's face.
Welfare and AA was started as reparations, even bribery to give the black community a hand in getting on their feet and not turning the cities into unwalled prisons.
It's not working and I wish you all would just stop griping and do things for yourself

Um, the African Americans carried the load for the rest of us from the beginning. They didn't come here looking to make good, they were hauled in on boats, shackled together, sold at auction, and forced to work in other men's fields. They were forbidden from learning to read, selectively bred to be good farmhands, or raped to produce offspring who might make fairer-skinned house servants. That African Americans were able to come so far from this beginning is nothing less than astonishing, and a tribute to the indomitability of the human spirit. And if you want to know why they haven't done better in our society, well, it's probably because people like you still dismiss as collectively lazy the hardworking people on whose backs our great nation was built.

This is an intentional manipulation done by marxism in an attempt to bankrupt and overthrow democracy in the US.

The obvious solution is to reject socialism and completely dismantle welfare except welfare for those physically unable to work (old people and the handicapped, for the most part).

The good news is this is happening right now. It's pretty obvious that marxism (liberalism) in this country is finished. Within a generation, this will cease to be a problem.

Aside from my disgust with your obviously racist question, consider this: The "rest of society" has not marched forward. Only the very wealthiest of Americans (the top 20% who control 90% of the wealth) have.

For example, over the last 25 years estate taxes (on estates over $1 million) have been cut by 49%, and capital gains (on investments) have been cut 31%. Payroll taxes (that's the rest of us working stiffs, regardless of color or creed) have risen 25%.

It's easy to blame each other because of our colors, our disabilities, our job status, or what have you, but we need to stop squabbling with each other and focus our attention on the real issue: economic injustice perpetrated by the very wealthy.

I work at a convenience store/gas station. I am 'white'; my ancestors are primarily Northern and Western Germanic (English, Scandinavian, Frankish) with about 1/32nd Greek and 1/16th Amerindian. I'm 'poor' economically but take no government aid.

There are productive 'black' people and non-productive 'white' people too. There are plenty of 'black' folks and 'white' folks who are sucking on the government nipple.

I see more 'white' people coming in and using food stamps and getting gas vouchers from the Sisters of Charity (a local catholic charity) than I see 'black' people doing the same thing.

Many so-called successful 'white' people (such as many politicians, lawyers, oil moguls, entertainment personalities, and traffickers in drugs and sex) are merely leaching money from those who actually work and produce consumables. There are plenty of 'black' people and 'white' people who are successful in these leaching careers.

Economic success is not necessarily 'success'.

Even though you seem to be a clever racist, please don't quit your job; millions on welfare and on government payrolls are depending on you! And, the ones on the government payrolls aren't just scalliwagging money for themselves, they are scalliwagging money to give to other nations whose leaders don't care about their own citizens.

Good question. How come everyone comes to America to get a college education, and all sorts of hand-outs???

Close the freaking borders and lets take care of our own for a change!

Why that is easy because the white man keeps them down as so we can become more successful... thus allowing us to spread our political and religious propaganda! It's so simple!
