I am as smart as I want to be, and smart enough to know that the quest for knowledge is never ending. We can never have enough.

Yes.
But, that assumption is based on the fact that I am smarter about only certain things. For some things other people are smarter than I am.
If you base it on an IQ test, then yes. I average from 140 to 165 on most IQ tests. An average person averages 80-130. Albert Einstein scored 160 on the same IQ test I scored 165. But, I know nothing much at all about quantum physics, and he didn't know much about computers like I do.
The sign of true intelligence is to first admit you know absolutely nothing. Only then can you learn.

Everyone is smarter than the average bear about something. Maybe you are great with chemistry. Maybe you know more about medicine than any of your friends. You could also be the fella who lives on the corner who can fix anything! Some folks are intellectual. Some folks work with their hands. I'd guess that the folks who can work with their hands are a better off because if they have a good life and a decent living, they are not paying off student loans like the intellecutals are!

Considering the multitudes of ignorant people in Africa and South America and China and other developing countries, I would have to humbly say that I am smarter than the average human being. I did not even mention all of the people that are much much younger and less experienced than I am.

From what I have observed in this life
(and that includes exposure to diverse features)
I would HAVE TO conclude that
YES,
I am "smarter than the average person."
I continue to learn.
I enter into each interaction with the intention to learn.
Therefore I do.
Being smart comes with the responsibility of working to STAY smart and to SHARE smart.
.
Smart people can be stupid, but if they are Smart
they rectify that, and learn from the experience.
That's how they get smarter, and stay smart.
Often, being "smart' actually smarts!
And it can be a lonely vocation.
Especially in America! :-)

I'm not sure what average is considered today. I took an I.Q. test a few years ago and the result was 121. I questioned it, to be honest. LOL. I fluctuate between being smart and stupid.

I'm not an intellectual snob but I have a little better than average IQ. I have good common sense which I believe is much more important.
