They got their World Series. They've got nothing more to live for now.

Not that it matters, but how does a 3 game lead constitute "running away"?

I would think a 3 game lead is no where near being safe, especially with all the games the red sox and yankees have remaining.

As for the fans....who knows?

But, you know something, that point is moot because The Blue Jays will win The AL East...and the wild card will come from The Central....so guess what that means?

Yep, you guessed it correctly....the yankees and red sox will be sitting at home on October watching the playoffs on TV.

Running away? You wish.

This isn't the 2004 World Championship team. They don't have the same appeal. Sure, they still have Manny and Ortíz, which I'm sure are fun to watch if you're not a Yankee fan as I am, but there are so many new faces. Besides, you can't count how many fans jump on the bandwagon of the previous year's World Champions. Now that the hype has died down, you're back to the few die-hard Red Sox fans.

The Yankees are still a good team, but now all the teams are playing pretty equally. I'm a Sox fan and I'll tell ya they won't run away with it. I think they'll win the division, but they won't win it by more than 3 games. These teams are just to equal. Yankees use to win all the time, now the tables are turning and Yankee fans know this, so they are just a bit more quiet. I wouldn't say they disapeered.

Interesting question!! You must be referring to Yankee fans disappearing because certainly Red Sox fans haven't. We stand by our team no matter what. Red Sox Nation is alive and well and is as strong as ever. It is the Yankee fans who are disappearing because they know full well that The Yankees are not going to win the division this year, and most of them are fair weather fans. Thus the disappearing!!

Go SOX!!

Disappearing fans? Fenway Park has sold out over 250 consecutive games.
