I'm a scot, and it appears that england are playing marginally better in successive games. Are they building up and saving the best for last? I really would like to see them win, but, I fear the onslaught of Babble from many of the commentators. We're still suffering the fall-out from 1966....and the thought of more of the same .....Beckhams goal against ecudor was a peach.

Yes, forget 1966, history needs to be rewritten.

England will win if all the next teams behave like the Ecuador Zombies-that-would-not-run. Nobody seemed interested by the game. It was one of the worst games I have ever seen. But that peach sure was Beckham's.

FOR THE RECORD: Ecuador played like if they received money to make sure that the English fans would stay another week spending money in Germany.

Well, you have seen the game: boring, boring, and boring.
The funny thing about this is that England's fans always point fingers towards other teams, thinking they are the best!
An example: always complaining about the Italians, the way they play defensively, the way they win games... then what do we see? Liverpool, Arsenal and National Team applying the same way of play... but that is OK, because it comes from them!
I think a little less hypocrisy is needed.

I think they'll get to the semi-final. Can England honestly defeat Brazil? Here in the US in Chicago, the sports page projected England to win the whole thing from day 1. But somehow, I just don't think it's going to happen.

Marginally better? You've got to be kidding -- they werre (spelling deliberate, to celebrate your Scottishness) terrible: absolutely no creativity in attack, alarming holes in defense, and all this against a very mediocre, second-string team.

Do you really think they'll survive a reasonable team (Portugal, Holland) playing like this? I don't.

We've plenty left in the locker my Scottish friend. We always raise the bar against the bigger teams. Total Victory. England expects.

I'M SCOTTISH....England will win the World Cup, if english people get positive and send power over to our players, they are all good players,
do we want them to lose? are we all negative just because beckham is human and was ill? shall we all send good thoughts to our players. let them know we are thinking of them, without judging them....be proud that we got to quarter finals be brave and think of them, not ourselves !!! WATCH EM COME BACK WITH THE CUP,

Of course they are, we must have some faith in them - they've just got through again, and many teams haven't, so that is good for now and hopefully they are saving the best for last.

I doubt is very much. Though Backham's goal is super....the whole team is under par and especially Lampart. The demon is inside him , forcing him not to score but pretending to score.
