OMG!!! We would all be forced to live in the mountains because everywhere else would be underwater. Thank you Sponge Bob for keeping us high and dry.
Actually no difference. They are saturated in water that would have been there anyway. And the solid parts are made from the minerals and organic compounds which already existed in the ocean. I believe that any calculation or measurement for ocean depth/volume would be the same with and without sponges.

heres a guess! I reckon the sponges have virtually no mass, hence their absorbency. Sooo the water that soaks into the sponge would still be there otherwise. So its a matter of subtracting the mass of the sponges from the mass of the ocean and its just a guess that there would be hardly any measurable difference at all. If any.
