personally i think its Johna Santana and Fransisco Liriano.
Bringing Liriano from teh bullpen into the starting rotation was a very smart move

Johan Santana and Fransisco Liriano, and let me tell you why, both are southpaws, Johan is 27 years old, Liriano is 22 years old, both have 3 dominating pitches. Both are overpowering and strikeout picthers.
Santana should start the All Star Game this year along with Joe Mauer catching him, he won the 2004 Cy Young and he should've been last year's winner, but the run support he got was aweful, he lead the Majors in K's, 2nd in the A.L. in wins, first in WHIP, and opponents batting average.
This year however he had a bad start going 0-3 in his first 4 starts, since those starts he is 8-1 with a sub-2 ERA. If he gets 20 wins, he will win Cy Young again, he dominates batters.
As for Liriano, he is the future of the Minnesota Twins, nicknamed "The Franchise" he will only get better, he is 7-1 so far this season, with a 2.30 ERA, more K's than I.P. (Innings Pitched), he is a beast, he stole the show on the Roger Clemens return, and he will only get better.

As for the guy who said Red Sox have the best with Shilling and Beckett, I don't think so, not even close, Shilling's ERA isn't anything special, he has had way more run support than Santana, and remember Johan beat him their last time up, just like he always does, just like he beat him for the Cy Young in '04, he got all 20 votes, Shilling got Zero 0.

Josh Beckett is a great pitcher, but he isn't anything rare, he is not something that comes along every 15 or 20 years, Liriano is, he is the future of the American league.
Mark my words here, Liriano and Santana will compete for Cy Young at the end of the season and also the next couple of seasons, they're that good.

I'll take the 1-2-3-4-5 punch the White Sox have in Contreras, Garcia, Buehrle, Garland, and Vasquez.

You don't get a night off when you're facing South Side pitching.

Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale for the Dodgers in the 60's. They took turns several years winning the Cy young award and between them they would strike out over 500 batters in a season. and win 40-45 games. Hard to top that one! As far as today's pitchers goes I think the one you mentioned is probably the best followed by Glavine and Martinez of the Mets.

Mark Buerhle and Jose Contreras for the White Sox

Undoubtedly the Red Sox in Curt Schilling and Josh Beckett. Their stats speak for themselves, and Schilling should have at least two more wins because he left the game with a lead which the Sox eventually lost.

I hope you agree.

Very smart move.

I believe the Mets have the second best 1-2 this season with Martinez and Glavine. (after Minnesota of course)
