Well mine make me a bit more hormonal....especially right before my period. I cry if I am embarrassed, sad, during happy films before my periods only when I am on the pill. It is ridiculous but hormones are powerful things. If you are depressed without any events or significant stress it could be your pills. Try going off them and using other forms of contraceptives. Or if you use them for hormone regulation ask for a different brand....lighter in estrogen.
Having a working relationship with your OBGYN is really important. good luck

Depression, Migrains, weight gain, lowered libido, anxiety.

I had a lifetime of problems caused by the pill. Different ones have different side-effects, and I suffered from all of them, and have been on just about all of them.

I was on all sorts of meds for different conditions, and they all started when I went on the pill and cleared up when I stopped the birth control.

It depends on why you are taking the pill. If it's just for birth control, then I would say take it for a month and see what happens.

If it's for other medical problems, like regulation of periods, I would suggest you consult your gynecologist about other options, and they may refer you to an endochronologist that may be able to help you out a little better.

yes aparently they can give side effects like depression. There should always be an leaflet free in the box saying what the tablet can do, and the side effects caused. If there is not once see your local phamicy.

yes it can but as someone else just said it all depends onthe brand i think the combined pill is more prone to give you depression than the mini-pill consult a doctor though to be on the safe side

Yes, it can ... birth-control pills elevate the amount of estrogen in your system that can result in lower moods, but think how depressed you'd be if you had an unwanted pregnancy. Change the dosage if necessary, but stay on the pill.

it's a hormone so can change ur natural hormones, unless its affecting your sex life or periods which can then make you sad or even depressed if it effects you that much, but is most likely the depression is not a side effect. make sure you see your doctor if you're really concerned or having problems coping.

Yes, hormonal birth control can effect your moods. Go back to the doctor who prescribed your pills and tell him or her of your concerns, and they'll help you to find something that will protect you without causing emotional problems. Good luck! :)

Yes because the pill causes your hormones to fluctuate. I'd would talk to your doctor and express you concern though just to be safe.
