Example: Blacks get affirmative action which helps them get into jobs, college, civel service positions, etc? Doesn't this, at the same time, punish certain people for being a certain race? Isn't that discrimination? This is very confusing.....

it is the governments way of trying to make things right for what the blacks were put through many years ago.
i don't think it is discriminiation. i do think though that it is sad that every nationality can have their own organizations, except whites. because if we were to have a group or organization to celebrate the fact that we are white, people would think we were some hate group or something.

Affirmative action is not as prevalent now as it was 15-20 years ago. Many white employers had to be forced to hire outside the white race. I see nothing wrong with a "gentle" nudge in the right direction.

What's discriminatory is your hiring a person who is just like you but can't do the job because you don't want to hire someone who is different from you even though that person CAN do the job.

People should be hired for their ability to do a job well not by the color of their skin, the religion they follow, or the gender they prefer.

Well, if the other races were slaves then it is unfair. But Blacks were the ones who got dumped on, in the U.S. So they get the special remedial treatment now. By the way, affirmative action is not a quota system and isn't discrimination. You need to learn more about those policies first.

That behavior is due to the psychological desire to feel the crude blind seeping sensation of disrupting the fine fundamental logical truth that all entities are separate and distinct. When that fundamental logical truth applies to humans, it means that different people, and different races of people, can have inherent differences between eachother. If that truth is disrupted, then the only possible cause for the de-facto inequality can be environmental. Thus, affirmative action compensates for the made-up environmental cause, so as to give a false impression of innate equality.

to help combat racial discrimination.. sometimes these things are put in place to assure that everyone has a chance equally. We would'nt need them if there was'nt as much racial discrimination as there actually is out there.
