Why do women in india consider smoking cigarette as a sin??

Cuz India is very reserved, They are not open to the fact that women from their country are capable of doing something of such a caliber. It is looked upon as a social taboo for an Indian woman to smoke in public not in the eyes of the law but the reserved society, but not in cosmopolitan cities such as Bangalore,etc.
It is considered a sin by the certain middle-aged people of India ,not everyone consider it to be a sin.

well first of all it is a good thing that at least some group of people are away from this so called modern fashion of smoking , i mean even though everybody in this whole world know that smoking is dangerous not for just self but others around, and all these educated people are proving it by researches and all that but still smoke by themselves, about Indian women, well it is a part of culture as well , and that would be consider one of the good things in Indian culture for women at least, anyways, i don't want to go too deep in this , but respecting good things is not a bad thing right???

India ia rich in its culture & tradition & strongly people believe it.So generally most of the indians consider women are the Lakshi of their house.Due to all these superstition women smoking considered as sin.

it is not a superstition !! indian culture is based on science not superstition, women should not smoke because they have to carry children, if she smoke it will affect her baby!!
today metropolitian Indian go wildly behind westerners, their only aim was to be like a westerner,they dont even evaluate the positive and negative of western culture, they just copy them (that shows their servile mentality)

i gues they just take it as a sin, cuz it ruins ur lungs, it damages it in another words, i did a project on smoking so i noe.
smoking is kind of bad but not a sin, people smoke 2 heal their problems, 2 get a pieace of mind, they dont know wat will happen 2 them later on.............heart attack, lung will be damaged, im not saying nothin bad 2 u its just the truth, i've seen it happen and heard it happen.
