I already have ... and this issue is far more romantisized (look at your answers) than the reality.
Living for your dreams, giving up everything for them, doing this each day, for 5, 10, 15 years is painful and agonizing. It isn't 15 minutes of drama in a movie. It is a long, torturous process.
A wise man said "Count the cost" ... there is a wisdom in making compromises, in making decisions that will return stable security for less total (and immediate) satisfaction. Don't think for a second that "living for your dreams" is the only option - that is often the opinion of those who haven't ventured much beyond the kiddy pool. Some dreams are worth pursuing, perhaps yours are. But the pursuit is painful (read about Van Gogh, Kierkegaard).
"Count the cost ... "

In some sense, I think this is a necessity. For example, if one wished to begin reading for one hour everyday. One would need to find the activity that is best for one to replace for that hour, and replace it for their dream of becoming an avid reader. Your dreams are what will inevitably effect the changes in your life. So again, in some sense, we must give up the life we know to reach our goals and dreams.

Thats a tough one but here I go. I didnt give up everything for my dream which I guess is happiness and now at 44 its bit me in the butt. Yes forsake it all! But be happy! There is no other way. Its your way or the highway!! Or you will be unhappy the rest of your life. I know I am miserable trying to figure out the next move.

Your question is redundant my friend. No, I would not physically die for my dreams, what would be the point in that? However, I would sacrifice some important things in my life if I could achieve a certain dream.

Yes...and I already did so. I gave up everything to be with my husband ....I left a totally different life style in a totally different country (wasn't my native country, but I grew up there), family and friends....This is my home (I'm a citizen of the world!)... my life, my family ...and I love where I am now...took some time to get used to, but it's a great place for young ones to grew up in. No regrets!!!

No.....for a simple reason.....dreams are supposed to improve my life........and if i had to give up my life (meaning current life i suppose), then i will be destroying my life...not building on it.
I wouldn't wreck a building to start rebuilding a new one.....i would reconstruct it, and redecorate.....
Besides, my current life is what gave me my dreams....so without it, i won't have the motivation to pusue my dreams....
Good luck

If you are pursuing you dreams, how can you be giving up your life. Isn't this what you want to do?

yes... u see that its ur dreams that make ur life what they r so.... ur not really giving up your life!
but if u look at it in a philosofical way... then no cause thats just look for sensations and if u want to reach the ultimit thats wrong as u want to see what life is all about, and u wont acomplish that by ur dreams.
or smthin like that...
