He only needs 36 more to tie Aaron, 37 to pass.

He's at 719, it seems doubtful he's going to pass him this season. I don't think the Giants want him back, paying him almost $20M a season to play 100 games with that messed up knee. It remains to be seen if he'll catch on with an AL team, if any of those teams even want to take on the guy and his problems. But one thing is for sure, there'd be huge crowds as he approaches the record.

Bonds stated that he has no desire to pass Aaron on an interview but simply wanted to be counted among the top and tie or surpass Ruth.

at his current rate, he'll have hit ~24 by the end of the season that would leave him with 732, then if he hit the same amount of homers the next year (24) he'd be ahead of aaron by exactly one with 756. so yes he's on track to pass him if he plays next year.

Bond's knees are ailing him. At the rate he's going it would be 2008. I don't think he'll last that long without "special cream".

He'd prefer to have a WS ring..but...if he passes it or gets close...he'll go for it..

36 left 37 to pass...that is a regular year for him..I'd go to the AL and just DH the rest of my career...

Who the hell cares about Barry Bonds! If we all just ignore him, maybe he'll go away...

If he plays next year he has a good chance. However, I think he will retire after this season, because his knees won't let him continue.
