His mother was Rhea. She let his father, Chronos, swallow all his siblings at his request. When Zeus was born she got nymphs to save him from swallowing, and fed Chronos a rock instead. Rhea was one of the Titans, daughter of Gaia and Uranos.

Rhea. And, Kronos was his father. In mythology, Kronos was told that one of his sons would overthrow him, so he kept eating all his children. His mother hid Zeus from him, and gave him a rock instead. Later, Zeus overthrew Kronos & the Titans, and that's how he became king of the gods.
