Your friend is probably between the age of 8 and 14 or so. And your friend is unsure about certain things in life.
She is either trying to get a reaction out of you to see if maybe you would be interested in talking more about it (beating around the bush so-to-speak)... kids do this because they don't want to be embarassed about bringing up the subject if they're interested in it and you are not.. because society has placed such an evil notation on whether we like girls or boys or maybe both. It's not wrong to talk about stuff with your friends. It helps you make decisions about life. I would just react with something like.. well whatever she likes.. that's her deal. instead of.. ewweee that's sick and wrong.
Even if you're a believer in a faith that strongly says being gay is bad... that still has no impact on what another person does or chooses in their life. You need to be open and respectful of other people's decisions as long as they don't effect you. right? :)
or she just wants to brag that she knows everything about everybody and what is going on in everybody elses life. People in general like to show that they "know it all" or have more knowledge than you do about something. It's really common.

I guess she thought you would like to know. Some people think they have to tell the world their business. If you don't want to hear it, just say, I'm really not interested in what your sister does. It's too personal. Good luck.

Perhaps your friend's sister is exploring her sexuality and your friend is having a tough time with it and needs someone to talk to.
Or maybe she's hitting on you. You should probably ask her.

She's testing the waters - you know, trying to identify your orientation (maybe she's gay or bisexual). When she said she was into men, maybe she said this to deter any suspicion you might of had of her.

you know, your question is quite confuesing but maybe she really does "like-like" you. She might want to be "more than friends". Sorry I have never expirienced that but I know a lot of people who have.
