Unfortunately my father passed away this year (4/16/2006). I regret not realizing my dream of finishing this book I am trying to write and buying a house – a house which I would have shared with my father. I regret the fact that my dad will not be here to physically hold his grandchildren and talk to them and tell them stories of his youth or sing beautiful Spanish boleros like he would do with me. I am deeply saddened to know that I will never sit with my dad and have a cup of tea, or hear him laugh, or get the update on a particular Spanish soap opera, or watch the World Cup or any soccer matches with him, or hug him and tell him to take good care of him and that I will see him very soon…I am comforted in knowing that my father did not suffer and suffers no more. I find solace in the fact that he now rests at the foot of the Creator and has been reunited with his own beloved parents and my deceased older sister. I am joyful because now, even though he will never stand by my side again in my waking moments, my father is always with me – wherever I go, there he too will be - and I hope to create more memories with him when I see him in my dreams.

My dad is a retired ford engineer. He is really smart, funny and quiet. I can ask him anything and receive an intelligent answer.
I was born when he was 18 years old but he worked hard and made something of himself and I never lacked anything. He is an example to me of what hard work and responsible parenting will do. I am proud of my dad.
