My husband and I have been trying to concieve for 7 months now. I am due for my period June 30th. I had a light spotting on the 21st, 9 days before due, and thought it was my period. When I took out my tampon there was no blood at all. I was hoping it was the light spotting I have always read about. Hope someone can give their educated opinion on it. Thanx XO

LIght spotting is a sign that either something is trying to implant or that you have had a change in hormone levels. Generally the spotting for implantation is more of a pinkish red.

Figure out when you ovulated and it could be a sign that the egg was implanting and that is what you are seeing. When you ovulate and the egg is fertilized, it takes 3 maybe 5 to 10 days for it to implant. That I'm not 100% sure of, so ask your doctor. But I did that when I got pregnant with my 3 child. If you are still worried and don't get your period on the 30th, then with 1st morning pee, take a test on Sat. July 1. Good luck and I hope that might have answered you question. I would make sure that since you are trying to conceive, that every month after you ovulate, that you always assume that you are pregnant until you have a positive test or get your period. It is a hard time emotionally but in the end, WELL worth the time and trouble.

i can only tell you of my experience. i had a light period even though i was a month pregnant with my daughter. it wasn't a full blown period but i didn't even know i was pregnant until i missed the second period. to my surprise the dr told me i was two months pregnant.she is a happy healthy 11 yrs old now. spotting is common during pregnancy. on the other hand, i had spotted during a second pregnancy that did not turn out well. my advice to you is, if you think you may be pregnant, take a test, make an appointment with your ob. if your desire to have a baby is strong enough, sometimes psychologically, your mind will trick your body into thinking it is pregnant. so before you get stressed or excited it is better to find out for sure. besides, if you are pregnant spotting can be (not always) a sign of a problem. so please find out for sure so that if you are, you and baby will start this pregnancy off healthy and happy! the best to you!
