Jordan Staal is obviously a stud. It will be interesting to see what lines come out of camp when the Pens' most promising youngsters all play center.
The Pens also got steals in defensemen Brian Strait and Timo Seppanen.
If the Pens can find another goalie so they can dump Thibault & can pick up a veteran winger to replace Mark Recchi, the Pens can certainly improve & not end up at the bottom of the league next season. With all the depth they have in the system one of the deepest farm systems in the league), I would be surprised if they don't trade for a stud vet or two.
The only bad thing I'd say about the draft is that they didn't pick up the speediest players & the league is becoming generally faster. They could sure use another Martin Straka streaking up the ice.

I am a Penguins fan and I'm happy about it. If we get some defense going then things will be great with the Line-up on offense. Although with the league how it is might be able to try to do like we did in the early 90's where the defense was the greatest but the scoring made up for it. Just need a decent defense at least. I think Fluery is getting better in net and it is a good mostly young team. Now if we can keep them in Pittsburgh they should bring the Stanley Cup back to the city in a few years as long as they devolp as well as they look.

Not a Penguins fan, I am bitter leaf fan who is watching a GM ruin a franchise through bad signings and bad trades.
However in Jordan Stall, you have a real Thoroughbred to go with the like of Crosby, Malkinin and Andre-Fleury.
Don't be surprised to see one of your forwards most likely Stall traded for a defenseman (Carolina makes sense Stall for Jack Johnson although maybe not for the Canes as stud young d are hard to find... like I said I know I'm a leaf fan and you wouldn't believe the rejects I've seen)

I'm not a Penguins fan, but I'd be pretty excited with having Jordan Staal on my team.
IMO he's the better of the Staal's.
