Why do they teach in schools that violence is not the answer,when they have us learn about wars that solved Americas problems!

While teaching about the wars, they also teach about the 100's of 1000's of people that died in those wars too. They are trying to get the point across that war is no way to solve anything. All it does is destroy nations and kill many innocent people.

Because war is an option, usually the final and only option of many. This decision has to be agreed upon by many levels of highly educated committees, that's a fact whether you are for war or against it. But when you are in school, you aren't educated enough to look at all your options and violence would be your first reaction to any problem. This would damage the odds of your success into adulthood. It is our responsibility to protect you from your self as someone did for us and as we hope you will do for the children of tomorrow. Focus on knowing your own problems before you take on the challenge of assuming to know your country's.

Excellent question! I think that we all must attempt to stop violence on whatever level we can. If we start small, like in our families or our neighborhoods, then the spirit of good will will grow. Who knows, if we all try, maybe someday there will be no wars. Wouldn't that be great?

Thank goodness for people like you who think and ask important questions like this. Seems a bit hypocritical of our leaders, doesn't it. The truth is that international relations are all about "might makes right," the very pricinple they say is wrong to apply to interpersonal relationships.
