SIMS 2 Question on Downloading And Installing Extras?

I want to download extrad from Sims2.com like houses and neighborhoods but i dont know what file i put them in PLEASE HELP!-
PS It is for PC

For sims based on actual characters head to the offical site adn go to exchange and download sims from there and you can get lots too.

Then go to http://modthesims2.com/ they have lots, houses, clothes, sims, everything you could imagine. It takes a little while to get used to but they have step by step instructions on getting everything from teen woohoo to new careers. you'll need to install a lot of new programs those:
-Sims2 Clean installer
-Q-Express
-Color Mod

to install them(make them work in the game) all you have to do is place the object on the right folder
go to my documents/ea games/the sims2
there will be lots of folders like camers,collections,config,downloads etc. if you have new buy objects like chairs and tablesand stuff put them into 'downloads' folder. (do this for installing clothing also)

to install houses go to the same place my documents/ea games/the sims2 and then go into 'Neighborhoods' folder you will see a few folders loke n001,n002 and others depending on how many you have built. pick one that has most free space (new neighbourhood that has build space) just say its n001 open that folder and then go into lots then all you have to do is place the house package file into that folder.

to install sims im guessing you do the same thing but put them into the 'Characters' folder but im not sure

most new things come in a zip folder with install instructions or come with an installer but now you know what to do.
most new objects require the 'CEP' for the objects to show up in the game.
