Less than you lazy b*stards get in your welfare checks since spending on welfare programs is higher than any single budget item including the war.

You might want to ask how much do muslims pay people who are too lazy to support themslves. The last number I heard was ALL the sand you can eat.

Ashlylynnlynn - I know you are just a product of the public education system but you may want to try using a fact or two in your response -

Bush asked for $80 BILLION and in 2004 we spent $87.9 BILLION but apparently not enough to educate you.

BTW - something else you won't hear from your biased, ignorant, liberal friends, Bush has spent more on education than any President in history.

The 'to date' cost of the war in Iraq is over 290 Billion dollars.

The current population of th US is around 299 Million people

so roughly 1000/per person for every man, woman and child in the US

Bear in mind the cost in iraq is growing rapidly and incessently. I would recommend clicking the first link below, it is the national tracker of this expense, and offers some other thought provoking comparisons of that money.

It's not that much. There are 300 million people in this country, not counting the illegal aliens - but that does count the sleeper cells. It wouldn't be thousands of dollars, it would be hundreds of dollars. And some of that money would be spent even without war - food, clothing, housing, gas, etc.

So is a few hundred dollars worth letting terrorists do whatever they want?

Bush asked congress for 80 Million for the war... (p.s... spending for Education last year topped off at only 60 million....)

So 80 Million divided by....
6 Million or so that live in the USA.

The answer is a lot.

The Iraq war is costing the US $5,600,000,000. per month. There is approxiamately 300,000,000 Americans (not quite actually, but for sake of arguement) So it's costing each and everyone of you $18 per month for the war. The total US Military budget is $455 Billion per year, Japan's is $30 Billion. $455,000,000,000. divided by 300,000,000 is $1516 per year, or $126 per month for each and every American...hmmmm....is it worth it? Brock in Vancouver, Canada...Us Canadians dont approve of our troops in Afghanistan either!

A hell of a lot.

Every American could have been put through a four year college.

Of course further educating American's is not good and counter-productive for the elected sofa samurais.

if all the money spent on wars was used for peace, think how much the world would benefit, or is it the american policy to think only of themselves

Very little. Americans spend more on Christmas decorations than we spend the military. Sad but true.

None, the government would figure out another use for the money. Once they get their hands on it, there is little chance of getting it back.
