To be honest, there is always something you will overlook. I, the ultimate procrastinator, did not pack until the day before I left. I was going to be 6 hours away. You'd think that I would have taken a little more time huh. There was no,
"Mom bring that on the weekend on your way to...", it was ok I'll get it during Thanksgiving break. I would make a list and divide it by categories, take a last look at your room before you leave, go through everything and hope for the best.

PS: Don't pack everything you own. If your future dorm was anything like mine, you will barely have enough room to walk; let alone store you entire room from home in.

Cleaning supplies, especially if you have to clean your own bathroom. A fan if your dorm, etc. does not have air conditioning. Bowls, cups and silverware if you are living in a dorm, even if you have a meal plan - you never know when you will want to eat cereal at 3am while studying for an exam. If you have a favorite soda, snack food, coffee, etc, make sure to take it and any special things needed to prepare it (coffee maker, toaster, etc.)

I know it sounds silly, but take something that makes you feel secure. Your favorite blanket, a stuffed animal, your most ragged pj's. Something that will make you feel like you are more at home. You are going in to a community of possibly thousands and most likely no one you know. Having that little bit of security, can ease your nervousness and make settling in a little easier!
