I lived out in the country when I was a kid and me and my sisters had this song to keep safe. It goes like this, "Red and Yellow Kills a Fellow, Red and Black 's a friend of Jack."

If you find a snake like this again stay as far away from it as possible because it's a very poisonous snake. There is one other snake that looks a lot like the poisonous one but to be on the safe side, stay away from any snake that looks like the one you have described here, okay.

It could be a milk snake, a king snake, or the poisonous coral snake. Coral snakes are found in many southern states, especially the southwest. If you are the Jodi from Nebraska, and you found it here, it is probably not a coral snake. Shoot me an email, and I will look at it.

Red on black friend of jack red on yellow be a warry fellow. Milk snake I believe.
