Kobe was the best thing to happen to the NBA since Shaq. He has amazing physical skills, and IMO is the only person that can even be compared to MJ in terms of outright ability to score at will. If he had shown Shaq more respect and hadn't been caught cheating on his wife, I think he would still be the man. Will his reputation ever recover? Did these things happen because he was so young and inexperienced? Or is he really just an asshole?

I don't see how anyone can deny the physical similarities... height, moves, elevation and hang time, can shoot a jumper from ten feet in the air.... Ok, maybe you can't compare him to Jordan, but if that's so, you can't compare anyone else, either.. especially not D.Wade, in terms of physical ability. I never compared Kobe to MJ in terms of competetiveness, mental focus, desire, and cluth performance.

Jordan won without a dominant scoring center, but lets give some credit to Scottie Pippen, dood. After Jordan retired the first time, Scottie Pippen led the Bulls in EVERY major stat: scoring, rebounding, blocks, steals, assists... If you are putting together a team of the best players in their prime, Scottie makes my list.

Calling Scottie Pippen a "solid role player" isn't even an understatement. It's ridiculous.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston never married, did they? And he cheated with Angelina Jolie, so of course no one cares. Kobe stuck his penis is a dirty hotel worker ho, right in the poop chute.

Kobe is the single best pure basketball player in the NBA and that won't be enough to win back the favor of the public or any more championships. Some nights, Kobe's offense isn't going to come and on those nights, the Lakers will lose.

Getting through four seven-game matchups in the playoffs won't allow for the offensive ups and downs. Someone athletic like Udonis Haslem, Bruce Bowen, Shawn Marion will figure out a way to slow down an offensive machine like Kobe. Maybe not every team can do it, but you have to get through four teams.

That said...it's the championships that made him a hit with the public. Without them, his fame will fade.

Kobe Bryant is one of the top 5 players in the NBA right now. He can score, pass and pretty much do it all. His clutch shooting and buzzer-beating shots has helped his team win many close games. However, now that Shaq has left, the question is can Kobe win a title without a dominant big man? Michael Jordan did it with a solid group of role players and no great center. Remember, all MJ had in the paint was Luc Longley, Bill Cartwright, Will Purdue, etc.

MJ led his team to 6 rings against teams with great big men like Patrick Ewing, Shaq, Hakeem, David Robinson, etc. Back when Jordan was playing, there were forces to be reckoned with in the paint. Now, there are only a few good centers. Can Kobe win a championship on his own? Can he will his team to the promiseland? Only time can tell.

he was never the darling of the nba shaq made kobe. If it wasnt for shaq their wouldnt be no kobe. People say that kobe is so raw if he is so raw why couldnt get past the first round of the playoffs and they were up 3-1. Kobe can sit down somewhere and watch dwayne wade become the new star of the nba. and this is dwayne wade 3rd year and all the 3 years he have been in the playoffs and won the title.

ok we could see kobe has a style of twiddling with the discomfort or having surgical technique and being out for 8 weeks that venture is completly diverse then a number of those different gamers you pronounced. A pinky harm is a lot much less complicated to play with then an ankle. An ankle will heal sufficient in 5 days if its a easy sprain why take the possibility of reinjuring an ankle and being out the the remainder of the year.

lol if you say shaq made kobe, then why not shaq made wade? sounds like a typical kobe hater.

kobe bryant is the player most similar to jordan. people that deny this are just blind and ignorant. people hate him by default and so of course you can't compare him to jordan.

kobe will always be hated...even when most can't even come up with a reason why they do! i doubt kobe is a bad guy...he was young back then...

No I think he'll never regain his rep. Now he has to compete with Dwayne Wade and LeBron James. Plus, since he's changing his jersey next season from 8 to 24, it shows that he knows that he's losing his rep. He wants to go back to his high school "talent" to get back rep. It's not going to happen.

If he chisels some of the callus off his heart, and the public buys it. He will have a chance.
