I've gone through the goth phase and I'm getting into emo. I think goth is a heavier and darker form of rock, not neccessarily evil, but there tends to be heavier guitar chords and drums and a lot is done in a minor key (if you know about music theory) and emo is a lighter, alternative more independent form of rock with more accoustic guitars...I suggest checking out Modest Mouse or Death Cab for Cutie (not like the name sounds) for a bit of good alternative/emo/indie. I hope that helps, I'm not in the music industry!

Simple

They have different kinds of music. Never mind that but they feel connected and thus are one or the other.

Remember the 60's ? Either Roling Stones or Beatles... Could you tell them appart? No not the bands... the fans. They could, back then. Look at some pictures and try to tell them appart now. But back then it was a very big issue. Same as now.

Roling Stones= Goth, Beatles=Emo. Maybe that explains it better.

An emo is a person who pretends to be a goth and does all the stuff goths do. Goths are rebels and don't like to talk to people.
