I want to see movies that are actually interesting, and arent too old but old enough. I rented Love Story, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club last summer, and I really like them. Do you have any other suggestions?

OK, I file my DVDs in chronological order, so I'll grab a handful from the oldest end of the stack and tell you what they are:

1. Little Women (1933) Katharine Hepburn
2. Heidi (1937) Shirley Temple
3. The Wizard of OZ (1939) Judy Garland
4. Gone With the Wind (1939) Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh
5. National Velvet (1944) Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey Rooney
6. Rio Grande (1950) John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara
7. Lady and the Tramp (1955) Walt Disney production
8. 12 Angry Men (1957) Henry Fonda
9. Run Silent, Run Deep (1958) Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster
10. West Side Story (1961) Natalie Wood
11. The Taming of the Shrew (1967) Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton
12. Funny Girl (1968) Barbra Streisand and Omar Sharif
13. Romeo & Juliet (1968) Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting
14. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood
15. Woodstock (1969) too many stars to mention

That's leaving out a all but the oldest John Wayne movie. Will that keep you busy for awhile?

It all depends on what genre you're interested in since there are classics in all the different ones. Some suggestions off the top of my head:

Comedy--"Duck Soup", "Airplane", "His Girl Friday"

Western--"The Searchers", "My Darling Clementine", "Butch Cassedy & the Sundance Kid" & "Unforgiven"

Science Fiction--"The Day the Earth Stood Still", "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (original version or the version with Donald Sutherland--rent both to see how they're different) and "Alien"

Horror--"Psycho", "Halloween" (the original), "Night of the Living Dead", "Cat People" (the original)

Action--"The French Connection", "Raiders of the Lost Ark"

Musical--"Singing in the Rain", "West Side Story"

Miscellaneous--"Godfather Parts 1 & 2", "Citizen Kane", "Casablanca", "Maltese Falcon", "Bonnie & Clyde", "The Sting"

Those are just some off the top of my head

If you want classics, I rented "Roman Holiday" with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck the other day and it was pretty cute. You mentioned some '80s movies.... I recommend the "Back to the Future" movies-- my favorite movies of all time.

I wouldn't call Breakfast Club a "Classical", but it is a "Classic". Try "One Crazy Summer" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".
