You're perfect at any weight. (5'5" & 110lbs is fine)

Don't worry about that BMI cr@p either. I have a daughter that was told she was at the high end of the BMI scale. They took her weight and height into account, but not the fact that she has been playing soccer since she was 2 1/2 yrs old and is nothing but muscle.

What I'm trying to tell you is if you look in the mirror and like what you see, then all is great. Do not compare yourself to "super models" they are not the real deal!

The last thing a 13 year old should be worrying about is whether they're under or over weight. Although I know that my words will probably not sway you, you are perfect just the way you are. Be aware that you are still growing and that typically you will grow OUT first before growing UP. So....what may appear to you to be fat is the first stage of a growth spurt....the second will be for your arms and legs to catch up.

Give yourself a chance to grow up....I promise that you'll be a whole lot happier with yourself at 20 than you are now. (I know patience is not normally a virtue found in a 13 year old but it's one should come as standard teenage equipment).

You are in the middle of a significant growth period where averages that are based on adult stable bodies are not very relevant. At your age we all grow differently with some sprouting up and getting thin before filling out while others fill out then grow and lose the puppy fat. Some grow earlier than others and other are a bit later in maturing (coz we are all individuals not production line products). You can expect to gain weight soon as your body fills out to a mature rounded female form and that is natural. In the mean time just eat good food, drink plenty, exercise and get plenty of sleep and you will let your body set the foundations for a healthy adult life.

A general guage you can use is this:

at 5 foot a woman should weigh about 100 lbs.
Add 10 lbs for every inch she is over 5ft.

Ex:
5ft 6in should weigh 160lbs.

It does vary a bit based on your frame size. So as long as you are over 100 lbs, you should be OK.
Just eat right, exercise and have regular checkups from your doctor and you should be OK. You still have puberty to get through, so I wouldn't be too worried about it right now. I was like you until I got my first period, then my weight jumped about 75lbs in one year. It was only after I was diagnosed with PCOS nine years later and a final weight of 275lbs that they found out it wasn't my fault.

So, just keep track of your health as best you can for now and hope you don't have any problems. Your weight seems fine.

There are millions of things that are more important to worry about than your weight. I was on this wacky diet that dropped my blood pressure so low it gave me a heart attack, I remember being in the hospital and thinking about how pissed I'd be if it had been my last day on earth I would have spent it eating lettuce and chicken breast, I haven't been on a diet since. I just enjoy life and eat what I want (just not as much as I want) and believe it or not I'm skinnier now than I've ever been because I'm happy and self confident. So, be happy with yourself and the rest will follow.

At your age, you need not worry about whether or not your are ok! YOU are OK!

Your weight is fine...I would say maybe a tad bit light, but stick to a normal healthy diet, eat 3 meals a day, moderately, stay off the snacks and sodas, exercise daily, and get a good night's sleep, and in time, you will see - you will be normal and healthy.

Stress NOT over your weight....live healthy and you're fine!

You are perfect, you will spend a lifetime worrying about your weight, don't waste these years worrying about this, I wish when I was your age I worried about things that were important like friends, family, the enviroment, take it from me, enjoy every moment of your teens, enjoy your friends, enjoy going out, be good and think of others, but most of all, don't worry about your weight, only if you feel it is getting out of hand, either on the heavy or light side, then ask for help, until then enjoy your teens.

Honey, you are just right. Really! And guess how I know because I was the same size as you when I was 13 and I looked great! Matter of fact, I'm trying real hard to get back to that 110 lbs. I'm sure that you are beautiful!

No, of course you're not. My friend is 13 years old, too and his height is 5'5, he weigh 129 pounds but you're only 111 pounds, don't worry :)
